The Capital District YMCA offers exciting opportunities for campers of all ages. Each branch offers day camp throughout the summer. Creative programming which includes swimming, games/sports, arts & crafts, and the chance to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors is part of each day's activities, all while under the caring supervision of trained YMCA camp counselors.

YMCA Camp Chingachgook, Lake George

Located on beautiful Lake George, Chingachgook is our year-round Camp and Outdoor Education Center. YMCA Camp Chingachgook has had a solid reputation as a premier summer resident camp since 1913. Boys and girls, ages 7 to 16, enjoy fun-filled daily activities which balance group activities with individual skill development, and education with recreation. Trained YMCA camp professionals ensure that each camper enjoys a character-building experience that lasts a lifetime.

YMCA Camp Nassau, Guilderland

Camp Nassau is a traditional day camp offering programming for children ages 3-15. A typical week in our funshine program would include daily swimming lessons along with:

Each of our camps is designed to develop skills and teamwork while meeting the needs of a particular age group of children. Each child will be part of a group of his or her peers led by qualified camp counselors. Children work and play together, sharing responsibilities for the group and learning to live with others. Activities include: Arts & Crafts, Weekly Cook-outs, Sports & Recreation, Science & Nature, Field Trips, and Recreational Swim.

We provide a wide variety of activities to suit all interests! Centered around weekly themes and the YMCA Four Core Values of Caring, Respect, Honesty and Responsibility. Our daily activities include swim lessons, and free swim, sports and games, arts and crafts, and quiet activities. Weekly field trips are an integral part of our curriculum. Special events such as theme days, dances, talent shows, community service projects, and Camp Olympics add to the camp experience.

Is a diversified day camp offering children a unique summer camp experience. Camp provides a summer filled with fun and adventure. With Cultural events sponsored by the city, camp provides both an educational and recreational program. Day Camp completes its program with special guests and events, group outings, and indoor/outdoor activities, giving your child an exciting and safe summer camp experience. Children bring their own lunch (free milk is provided.)
